IChing Reading
It is the seventh Month of the year, and we come to our IChing Reading for the Month Hexagram 26 sometimes known as “Taming Power of the Great” or “Great Attainment” or Heaven over the Mountain, interpreted by your 13 Society IChing contributor Angelica Danton.
This month as we rock through the month of Cancer the Cardinal Water Sign symbolized by the Crab. We also draw the powerful enlightening energy of this auspicious Hexagram to reflect on the power of the celestial or the heavens and the contrasting material endurance of the Mountains.
In this ancient Hexagram we are called to look inside, finding our inner strength embracing new movement in our lives. Seeing how our endurance relates to what we are and how we have carried on our spiritual and social destiny from our ancestral lines.
As we journey through this month and enter August this Hexagram we may draw inspiration from looking into our family history or tree or studying more intently the cultures we come out of. Do you relate to your ancestry, or do you distinguish yourself from it?
Is there wisdom to be learnt from respecting and honoring your roots?
On the astrological side this month as the Moon, which rules Cancer energy, is emphasized with the Cancerian Sun we are called on to find our own power within while at the same time keeping our feet on the ground.
We always need to believe in ourselves before any other being will believe in us. The “greatness” we seek is always in our faith in our reason to be here and in self-respect. We cannot transfer that power to others. True security lies in developing our courage and building self-respect.
Make your destiny count by deciding you have that power within you already and continue to follow your compass. Around you will be those who support you as well as those who maybe envious or even jealous of your resolves. Don’t pay heed to the latter, their insecurities are their karma not yours’s. Tests to your growing evolution will only strengthen you now.
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury will turn retrograde in Leo this month from July 17 to August 11th. So this month lends itself to reviewing and moving inwards. Just remember that Retrogrades always bring delays on forward moving actions. And can make progress slow but are valuable for going back over our actions or gaining better clarity.
